More about the Meat Goat Contest

Did you know that there are 100 goat breeds in the world, ranging in size from 20 pounds to well over 150 pounds, that more people in the world drink goat’s mile than cow’s milk, or that goat meat has a lower fat content than either lamb or beef and is eaten by over 80% of the world’s population?

The meat goat show affords youth an opportunity to learn to judge and select goats, feed, manage, and prepare them to exhibit and to successfully grow their herds.
