Young people who wish to exhibit their poultry projects at the Southeastern Youth Fair must document the progress of their chickens and describe what they learned by keeping their record book. The judge looks at each bird focusing on meat yield, body conformation, and uniformity rather than standard breed feather perfection. The completed record book, detailing the work done on this project must be turned in with the birds in order for the exhibitor Chicken to compete in this show. Please be sure to refer to the Calendar of Events for entry deadlines, animal pick-up dates, and all other important dates!
Is my child eligible? Any student older than 8 years of age and up, who attends the mandatory meeting and pays entry fee may enter this contest. Student must be a member of a 4H club or FFA chapter, and live in Marion County or attend a Marion County school.
